AREVA has joined the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) as operator of La Hague nuclear fuel recycling facility in France. WANO's Governing Board, gathered at the organisation's Paris Centre, today approved AREVA's Category 1 membership and welcomed Luc Oursel, AREVA CEO, who signed WANO's charter. Two Category 2 members also joined WANO and will be represented by CGNPC. Some of the units of the new members were previously represented by Daya Bay Co. Yangjiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd (YJNP) represents three units under construction at the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Site and Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd (FCGNP) represents two units under construction at the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Site.
