The WANO Paris Centre Governing board has announced the appointment of Ingemar Engkvist as WANO Paris Centre Director effective from 1 July 2016.

Ingemar Engkvist will succeed Ignacio Araluce, who has held the position of WANO Paris Centre Director since June 2006.

Ingemar Engkvist has been in his current position as Managing Director for E.ON Nuclear Sweden (E.ON Kärnkraft Sverige AB, EKS) since 2010. He was the Managing Director of OKG AB from 2011-2012 and the Senior Vice President of E.ON Kärnkraft Sverige AB from 2007-2010.

As part of his responsibilities as WANO Paris Centre Director, Ingemar Engkvist will join the WANO Executive Leadership Team (ELT), comprised of the Directors of the Atlanta, Tokyo and Moscow Centres as well as the WANO CEO. The ELT is responsible for the day to day operation of WANO.

Peter Prozesky, WANO CEO, said:

"I am very pleased to welcome Ingemar Engkvist to the WANO Paris Centre and the Executive Leadership Team. I am looking forward to working with him over the coming months and years and wish him every success in his new role.

“I would also like to thank Ignacio Araluce for his dedication to WANO over the past decade in the position of Paris Centre Director, and for his hard work and commitment to the mission of WANO. We will still have time to formally bid farewell to Ignacio, as he will remain in post until the end of this June. However, I would like to take this opportunity to wish Ignacio all the best for his future endeavours.”
