Arvo Vuorenmaa

Governing Board Chairman

Mr. Vuorenmaa is Senior Manager, Strategic Ventures of the Power Division at Fortum Power and Heat Oy. He holds a Master of Science degree (technical physics) from the Helsinki University of Technology.

He has 35 years experience in the nuclear industry, beginning his career as a Laboratory Engineer at Imatran Voima Oy (presently Fortum), specialising in technical diagnostics, control engineering and neutron noise analyses.

From 1975 to 1984, he worked on the Loviisa Nuclear Power Project and was involved in the planning and commissioning secondary side control systems, commissionings secondary side automation and developing on-line condition monitoring systems installed in Loviisa NPP. Afterwards, he worked as the station’s Maintenance Manager from 1984 to 1999 and was General Manager of Loviisa NPP from 1999 to 2008.

Mr. Vuorenmaa has been member of the Board of OKG Aktiebolag since 2007 and Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB since 2009. He has also been a member of Teollisuuden Voima Oyj’s Operation Committee from 2005.

Mikhail Chudakov

Regional Director

Mr. Chudakov was named Director of the Moscow Centre in February 2007. After graduating from the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute in 1983, Mr. Chudakov joined the Kalinin NPP, where he took part in construction and commissioning work. From 1983 to 1993, he worked in a variety of roles including Reactor Operator, Senior Reactor Operator, Senior Reactor Engineer, Control Room Supervisor, Plant Stage Shift Supervisor and Station Shift Supervisor. From 1993 to 1995, he served as WANO Moscow Centre advisor and WANO advisor in London.

In 1995, he was assigned a managerial position in Russia’s Rosenergoatom nuclear utility and held a number of positions, including Deputy Director of the International Department, Deputy Director of the Production & Engineering Department, First Deputy Director of the Department for FOREM implementation. In April 1999, he was appointed Director of Bilibino NPP. Mr. Chudakov has a Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering.
