A brief history
of WANO
Safety is everyone’s business
For the world’s nuclear operators, it was clear that an event at one plant impacted every plant and that nuclear safety was everyone’s business.

35 years of nuclear excellence
WANO was created on 15 May 1989 following the nuclear accident in (Ukraine, former USSR).
