Luis Soriano Martínez announced as new WANO Paris Centre Director


The WANO Paris Centre Governing Board has appointed Luis Soriano Martínez as the next Paris Centre Director, effective as of January 2020.

Luis Soriano Martínez succeeds Ingemar Engkvist, who has been nominated the WANO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective 1 January 2020.

Since 1982, Luis has worked in the nuclear industry starting with the commissioning of the Grohnde and Trillo Plants and then running the Chemical Radiological Protection, Fire Protection and Energy Planning departments at the Trillo site. After that period, he was responsible for Corporate Safety, Licensing and Environmental affairs until 1999 when he was appointed Engineering and Special Projects Manager of the merged Trillo and Almaraz Plants (CNAT).

Since 2013 he is the Technical Services Director of CNAT with responsibilities for Engineering, Fuel, Safety and Licensing, and Environment.

He has broad international experience of the nuclear industry; amongst that cooperation together with VGB in Germany, Pressurised Water Reactor Owners Group, WANO, EURATOM and IAEA.
