WANO statement on the coronavirus

WANO continues to support its members during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. WANO is helping to facilitate the exchange of information from member plants and facilities worldwide. WANO members are actively sharing their COVID-19 plans, and are encouraged to work with their WANO regional centre to share information and good practises with their global peers throughout this pandemic.

There are several resources for members available on a wide range of key topics associated with COVID-19. To access this page, you must be a member of WANO and sign in through the WANO member website.

Nuclear power plants will continue to provide a safe, reliable source of electricity that is vital to the world’s response to the coronavirus. WANO will carry out its mission – to maximise the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants worldwide – to the maximum extent possible during this difficult time. Each WANO regional centre and the London office has established guidance to its staff and members, with their health and safety as WANO’s key priority.

WANO is following recommendations by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and those provided by national governments. WANO's leadership continues to assess the situation, and the impact on WANO activities, on a daily basis.
