WANO has announced two new members at last week’s Governing Board meeting in Amsterdam.
Membership applications from the Republican Unitary Enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (Category 1) and MVM Hungarian Electricity Private Limited Company (Category 3) were approved by the WANO Governing Board. Both members will be affiliated to the WANO Moscow Centre.
This decision follows on from initially approving both members at the Moscow Centre Regional Governing Board meeting in Siofok, Hungary in April.
Director of the Belarusian NPP, Mikhail Filimonov and MVM representative János Toth signed the WANO charter.
Vasily Aksenov, Director of WANO Moscow Centre, assured representatives of the new members that they will always receive aid and support on the part of WANO members and the secretariat. He also said he expected openness in interaction and long-term beneficial cooperation.
WANO Moscow Centre now brings together 22 organisations from 13 countries around the world.
